I'll separate this into sections; first, basic skeletal outline, then backstory, then extra background information that ties in with her origins as a character. Because yep, here I go, making things roughly 1000x more complicated than necessary by tying this character in with my roleplay group. Alright, let's get started.
Name: "Timey"
(Catherine Skye)Age: 25
Appearance: A young woman in her mid-twenties, with long brown hair, violet eyes, classic knight's armor, and a red cape. A red flower decorates her hair, and she wears a gold and red necklace and earrings. Often Timey has a pair of fairy-like wings as well, though whether they are capable of actual flight is unclear.
They aren't. She generally has a friendly and calm demeanor, maintaining an upbeat and cheerful image for the sake of her teammates. Her starting keyblade is an elegant weapon named Timeless, decorated with an intricate design of gold, cyan blue, and cobalt. Its final evolution is Anomalous, which retains this same color scheme but gains an ethereal, otherworldly aspect, and a single blue eye to mark its partial corruption.
Personality: Timey is mostly laid back in temperament, moving at her own pace and letting others do the same. She isn't especially ambitious, but incredibly stubborn; much like a tortoise, it might take her a while to make it from point A to point B, but she'll make it there eventually. Unfortunately, Timey can be a bit flighty, and is easily distracted when her drive as a Wielder fades. Despite this, she does her best to be a reliable and helpful leader for her team, and will fight for their sake with everything she has. When backed into a corner, Timey is deceptively fierce and cunning, aiming for opponents' weakspots to gradually disarm and dismantle them—often literally. At times, extreme stress may make her seem like a whole other person entirely… Unshakeable, serious, and filled with a deep-seated guilt she cannot quite name. Harm her friends, and the consequences could be a bit more than you bargained for.
Interests: Aside from leading her team and fighting Heartless, Timey definitely does have a myriad of hobbies. She's quite an avid reader, and occasionally writes poetry of her own. Timey also has a love of story-telling, and can tell some surprisingly spooky campfire tales when she wants to. She's also been known to theorize and imagine what other new, terrible kinds of Heartless are out there, and admits to having a certain fascination with their appearance. Her most notable hobby, however, is her artwork. Timey paints quite frequently, but notoriously refuses to let anyone see her work. The reasoning for this is unclear, though most suspect she's just self-conscious about it. The only time one may just catch a glimpse is when she's sketching something in her little notebook-- though Timey'll likely snap it shut the moment she realizes there's an audience.
Skills: Although not particularly exceptional in strength or speed, Timey's quick thinking and strategic nature helps her get the upper hand on opponents. She's been known to pick out foes' weaknesses with surprising accuracy, and uses a variety of magic-based skills to tear down their defenses. Outside of combat, she is still generally seen as a level-headed individual, if a bit... Easily distracted. Furthermore, her sense of intuition is strange indeed; while Timey certainly can't see the future, she's disturbingly good at picking people apart and determining their underlying nature. As such, don't be fooled by her laid-back nature; Timey is pretty tricky to hoodwink.
Weaknesses: Unfortunately, Timey doesn't always take action as quickly as she should, and can often become a bystander when trouble starts in her team. Her lack of assertiveness can often result in an appearance of apathy and laziness, despite her best intentions. As a result, during the erased events of the Keyblade War, she found herself struggling to maintain peace-- and ultimately, by the time she took the situation seriously, it was already too late. Timey also is generally average in strength and speed; without an opening to get the upper hand, she really isn't particularly tough. Perhaps worst of all, however, is Timey's tendency to beat herself up over her mistakes. She can often find herself dwelling more in the past than the present, forcing her to completely immerse herself in her duties as a distraction. She struggles to rely on her team, even when she really needs to; this can result of periods of distant, cold behavior that seem uncharacteristic. When push comes to shove, Timey can't accomplish everything on her own... But, despite often informing her own team of this fact,
she herself needs to hear it the most.
Backstory: Catherine Skye was a normal girl, once upon a time. But, she was dissatisfied with the life she had been given. She desired purpose, a reason to fight. People to live for, and a place to call home. So, when the day came, and a shooting star blazed across the night sky, [ERROR] [ERROR] [MISSING DATA] [SAVE FILE CORRUPTED] [WOULD YOU LIKE TO START A NEW GAME?]
[REBOOTING]
Timey was a normal girl, once upon a time. But, she wanted more than the life she had been given. She desired purpose, a reason to fight. People to live for, and a place to call home. So, when the chance to become a Keyblade Wielder fell into her lap, she accepted. Under the Union of Anguis, she strove for greater things. Yet, even that wasn't enough, not quite. So, Timey created her own party within Anguis, a team for others who also sought a bigger purpose in life. She called it Komodo Draconis, and it would be a place for brave souls and comradery. Together, they would face the darkness and gather the light, just as was intended. With friends and allies at their side, there was nothing they couldn't overcome.
But something happened, something that feels like it's just on the edge of her memory. Something nobody else seems to remember, but which lingers, whispering in her dreams, her deepest, darkest nightmares. What happened to Luna? Ziled? They existed, she can remember them, recall their voices in her mind. But what became of them? The question repeats inside her skull, over and over, rattling coldly…
And why can't she shake the terrible, sick feeling that somehow, it was partly her fault?
Then there's him,
Sorein. Somehow, his presence seems both a consoling reminder of better days… And a dreadful symbol of that event she can't quite recall. Why can't she look at him without remembering those nightmares? Dreams are just that, aren't they—fiction, created by an idle mind. Yet, Timey cannot shake the uncomfortable feeling that they are not truly dreams at all. And why, why do those thoughts keep coming back, hissing in her ear like malignant serpents?
"It's all your fault."
"If you'd just tried harder, they'd still be here."
"You failed them. You failed everyone."
"What kind of leader abandons her own team?"Dark visages haunt her, scenes she is certain never happened. Investigating a strange new friend she can't quite name. Facing the Foretellers themselves, battling with everything she had. Aced, who wished to cut down all those he saw as weak. Invi, who caught her trespassing… Where? She can't recall. And Ava, who tested her strength… For what purpose? A puzzle is spread before Timey, yet it feels like more pieces are missing than present. Just thinking about it too much
hurts, making her head ache as it hunts for information that seems conspicuously absent.
But more than that, Timey has a vague awareness that something is missing in her past. Something more…
Consequential. The moment she tries to recall her parents, her home, her childhood… Everything fuzzes out and blurs. Who is she? Who was she, before she became a Wielder? It all feels like… Like [CORRUPTED DATA]
[WHAT IS MY NAME?]
For now, she focuses on the here and now. She smiles and laughs alongside her small team, pretending that all is well… Though it never will be. Timey buries her confusion and guilt under a veil of warmth and friendliness, hiding away the truth, even as that truth is hidden from her as well.
Someday, Timey will understand her past. She won't stop digging until she does… But when that day comes,
she may just wish she had left it buried.
